Middle of the second week working at Linden Lab and it's completely fascinating -- almost to an extent where I feel guilty having so much fun. Just picking up the basics is a little overwhelming. Today I had coffee with Dr. Thomas Malaby -- a professor of cultural anthropology at University of Wisconsin. Great guy and very bright -- his first book entitled Gambling Life, Dealing with Contingency in a Greek City , sounds fascinating. This evening I'm digging through this great resource MMOG Charts and reading whitepapers by Cory Ondrejka and Raph Koster's Short History of MUD's.
Then it's off to bed and a little Snowcrash, New Yorker and some snoozing.
